Health care-associated infections (HCAI) are endemic in the developing world. The prevention, control & treatment of such infections is a concern for all health care professionals including microbiologists, clinical specialists, nurses & hospital administrators.

The Hospital Infection Society - India is an association of medical professionals with a special interest in the prevention & control of hospital infection. We believe in it & believe firmly that Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) warrants more attention than it is getting as of now in & around the city of Lucknow by medical stakeholders. To fulfil our aim of "Clean Care is Safer Care", we at Lucknow, have established the 'Lucknow Chapter' of the Hospital Infection Society – India.The society aims to create a collaborative environment, where healthcare professionals from different specialties would work collectively to address the burden of HCAIs & AMR.
